Michelle Malkin (In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II) is smart. She grants the Japanese American’s right to resist the orders of the army and laws of camp in the courts--- Her book is a defense of white actions and scientific white racism. Roosevelt's generation were educated when Social Darwinism was fashionable: JA's were admitted into the army but weren't smart enough to be officers as proven by their smaller skulls in comparison to whites.
Out of social Darwinism came sociology and the acculturation, acceptance and assimilation (racial extinction) scheme embraced by the JACL ( Japanese American Citizen’s League).
The JA resisted and successfully defended JA civil rights. If the evacuation was intended to capture spies and saboteurs it failed, even with the JACL stooging for the FBI and the camps they failed to name one spy or saboteur out of the 120, 313 people interned.
The entire race was imprisoned. They were prisons, they were interned and they were not free or freed once they were "relocated" outside the military zones. They were under guard and not allowed outside the confines of the camp at pain of death.
Those who qualified to be free had to agree to not move into a community where the Japanese would be more than 15% of the population, they had to promise not to use the Japanese language in public, not wear Japanese costume in public.
My book BORN IN THE USA (I sent you a copy two years ago) looks at the JA immigration and the camps through JA eyes. The JACL betrayed JA civil rights and won the hearts of the whites so that every JA in politics today has to be a member of the JACL. The JACL and JA's in congress and the Bush administration are all JACL and against civil rights. They continue to claim their betrayal and the 442nd saved JA civil rights when the law books make it clear, if the JA's have their civil rights today it is due to the resisters. The JACL were traitors and cowards. The volunteers and draftees from camp were the cowards of camp. They may have been heroes on the battlefield, but they sacrificed their parents and their people to befree to fight for the freedom of whites overseas.
The JACL surrendered JA civil rights entered the camps with assimilation in mind. The JA's have married themselves out of existence the NY Times of last month noticed.
Malkin poses no threat to the race, civil rights. The JACL deserves the credit for giving up JA civil rights, getting the people joyously killed, destroying JA history and the extinction of race all accomplished within sixty years. Frank Chin
